iSkin EXO and Dock...

I've just been playing around with the dock and the new iskin. I found that if you remove the dock cover, the ipod w/ iskin fits perfectly. Although not pretty, it allows the dock to still be used. Maybe the makers of the iSkin will find it advantageous to manufacture a new dock cover that will make this a more elegant solution.

well, maybe not perfectly, but it fits quite well, the only thing that i'm worried about is that there is no back support; the only thing keeping the ipod attached is the dock connector. This may be prone to breaking...cklinh at 2007-11-15 15:44:08 >

Hmm...if someone could fabricate a new top of the dock so you could swap the standard dock cover with a larger dock cover that would fit an iPod in an iSkin, we might be able to solve a big problem here. It might be difficult to match the finish but I'm sure you can do something real nice for not too much money...Feel free to implement my idea, just give me a free one when you build them :)

maybe you could buy a replacement dock. It comes with a top for both the 10/15 and a larger one to accomodate the 30. Maybe the 30gb dock top will fit a 10/15 w/ a iskinjohnnybgood15 at 2007-11-15 15:53:24 >

while the opening in the dock for the 30 GB is larger in one direction (shorter direction), i think it's the same in the other direction (longer direction), so that wouldn't work. besides, what would owners of the 30 GB iPod do?the top actually comes off pretty easily; you just need something thin and strong (I used a small file) to slide in between the two pieces.

Supposedly, the FlipStand comes with a new dock that allows for in case docking.....mine is supposed to be here on Wednesday...I bet it would work for the iSkin as well.Macavity at 2007-11-15 15:58:24 >
