Deciding on a case

I have a new 30gb iPod and i already pre-ordered my itrip (which I am realllyyy excited about). Now I am debating on a case to go along with it. I want something that not only protect my ipod, but also has a Belt clip for when I want to use it on the go. I like the Marware Convertible, but I dont know if my Itrip can plug into it with the case on. Anyone have any suggestions? I was also thinking about the Iskin EXO, but I wasnt sure if my iTrip would fit on that either.

I reviewed the
DLO Action Jacket for 3G iPods (http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3852) in another thread. I bought it from http://everythingipod.com/ for $29.99. If you look at the picture you can see that the velcro straps go over the top leaving a space for your headphone jack, but if you had the iTrip you could just leave the top flaps unvelcroed and that should work just fine.

P.S. here is the link to the image.

Hmm, well, that is very tempting! Anyone have any other opinions? How about for the EXO. Id really like to know if those are compatible with the itrip, since they are doing their free shipping thing right now. Thanks!

WOW! That one looks AWESOME! Do you know if my iTrip would work in that one?

I just purchased the new Booq leather version case for my 30 GB iPod. I am a very happy camper! It looks great. The case functions better than expected. It fits my iPod like a glove. It has two pockets (the leather version only)... Magnetic snaps. It's only been a few hours, but so far, I am very pleased. I suspect this case is going to last a long time.

Magnetic snaps?!? Wouldnt that effect the iPod considering Magnets and Computer pieces dont do too well together? Hmm, well, does it have enough room for an ITrip on top? If so, then Im sold!

I don't believe the magnetic snaps carry a magnetic force that is strong enough to do any damage to the iPod hard disk.

There is an opening on the top to allow you to use the headphone jack or the iPod remote. These cases are for the 3rd generation iPod, so there is no opening for the 1st & 2nd generation iPod FireWire jack on the top. It may or may not allow the new version of the iTrip to work with the case on, but since I don't have the new iTrip yet (I have it on pre-order), I can not test it out. Though I suspect that the leather model which I have would work before the nylon model because the nylon is much stiffer, while the leather one allows some 'give' on the top.

Do you happen to have any pictures beyond what they put on their website? Id like to see what the top looks like with the case on. I know im a pain, haha, but to me a 500 dollar mp3 player deserves the best there is out there!:p

I want to order a Booq case, but I can't find the leather one on their website. Did you get it through the site or at MacWorld?

marware cases are so bulky and the convertible makes the iPod like 3 times as thick, so no ImaniJ, you guys dont make the best case. I would rather have something like the super dooper case or even the booq case.

# 16 Re: Deciding on a case
yeah but if you take the top off of the convertible, it's only a little thicker ;)

You think the Boog case is thinner than the Sport Convertible with the flap on? I have the Sport Convertible, and it IS pretty bulky. It really can't be worn or carried in your pocket with the flap on. It doesn't look like you can access the hold button from the top of the Boog case without raising the flap though.

I dont think people realize this, but the booq is the marware ceo classic without the nice leather and a screen portector, for 5 dollars more
