Just got the new Incase Sleeve for 3Gen iPods
I just received mine, and am very pleased.
Here is the link to the details:
http://www.incasedesigns.com/DetailIpodSleeve2.php
I bought mine from the Apple store, which had slightly cheaper shipping.
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/70202/wo/374QvROVz49v35jPd7UBcU69MGc/2.3.0.5.8
For the price (about $5 cheaper than most leather sleeve-style cases) I expected it to be of lesser quality. It is the ONLY available leather case at the moment as well, and one of two or three cases available period. The packaging, and appearance looks very similar to the original iPod case that comes with the 15 and 30gb models. The difference is, this case is made of very nice napa leather on the outside, and very soft suede on the inside. I tried slipping my ipod in and out several times, to make sure that it's not scratching it, , and sure enough, it doesn't. The suede actually has a polishing effect, getting rid of finger prints. :) The product is not entirely leather. The tiny portion that attaches the front portion to the back is made of stretchy nylon, to make if form to the iPod better. It fits extremely well, and feels very solid when the iPod sits in it. Absolutely no worrying about possible slip outs. The belt holder in the back is also covered with leather. The top is open, and everything is easily accessible. The bottom has a opening allowing for the firewire cable to be plugged in with the case on. There is a clear plastic shied over the LCD, but the touch buttons, and the wheels are exposed (this is not obvious by looking at the pictures. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase, and would recommend this case to anyone seeking a leather "sleeve" for their iPod. Hope this little review helps.

Cool. At USD$24.95, it's a lot less than the Vaja case. ;)

Thanks for the review. It's hard to tell from their web site. Does the inCase sleeve have a belt clip type device on the back, or a fully-closed loop that you can slip your belt through? I'd like to make sure that the case/clip combination can't fall off inadvertently (e.g., when climbing in and out of a car), and would prefer the kind of attaching mechanism where the belt is threaded through an enclosed loop--i.e., so that you can't remove the case from your hip without actually pulling the belt back out through the mechanism.

1. Belt clip: iPod case can be removed from a belt without unthreading the belt from it (i.e., just be pulling up)
2. Belt loop: iPod case cannot be removed without unthreading the belt from it (i.e., a belt loop on the iPod would be just like a belt loop on a pair of pants).
Which is it, please? I know that the diagram shows #1, but some of the language makes it sound as if #2 is also there (perhaps behind the belt clip?).
Thanks!
# 5 Re: Just got the new Incase Sleeve for 3Gen iPods
It's a clip, not a loop. (Mine just arrived this evening)
It is quite strong, and grips the belt very well - no worries that it will inadvertently slip off, at least at first use.

Thanks for the update. I've now ordered mine and am looking forward to it.

Having used it a couple of times now, I'll go further: this is the strongest belt clip I've ever had - it REALLY puts an iron grip on your belt.
Unlike the clip that the Apple case has, there's no way the Incase clip will slip off your belt (if anything, it's hard to put on and take off, because the clip is so strong).

govtcheez, seems that the case comes in one size only. Does it fit loosely with a 15gb.
# 9 Re: Just got the new Incase Sleeve for 3Gen iPods
I saw one of these at the apple store two days ago when i went in to get my replacement iPod. I had one for my original 5 gig, but I hated that it made it so bulky. I took it out of the box, and it didnt look like it made it that much thicker. Anyone want to comment on how it keeps the iPods overall size intact? thanks,
Rob

I just bought the Incase sleeve from my local Apple store. My first impression was that the packaging was very nice. It made me feel like I was buying a quality item. Upon opening the box, my second thought was that there was no way I'd be able to fit my 30gb in that case. It looks very tiny in comparison to the case that came with my iPod. Lo and behold, I was able to squeeze my iPod into the case but the fit is very tight. Initially, I'm a little disappointed in the overall fit, but I think the fit will be right on once the case stretches and the leather conforms to the curves of the iPod. I believe a 15gb would fit perfectly. The only way I can see it beeing loose is if you used the case to carry a 30gb model then used it to carry a 15gb.

I have another question about the belt clip. Can you remove it? It would be nice to have the option to take it off. That would definitely sell me on getting it.
Thanks for any info.
# 12 Re: Just got the new Incase Sleeve for 3Gen iPods
No, the belt clip is not removeable. It is stitched onto the case. Sorry.

the belt clip is not removable. The case fits my 10gb ipod very snugly, and the suede around the inside provides excellent protection. As much as I like this case...I may be selling it. I saw the new iSkin exo's and just placed an order. I like how it keeps the natural looks of the iPod. I don't really like how the leather cases look. If someone is interested in buying one, let me know. I may see it in about a week. It's in very good condition, and you might save a few $$'s. If the iSkin doesn't do the job...I'll just keep both cases, and use the one for backup. :)

There are several of the incase sleeves available on ebay. The cheapest I saw was $22.79 which included shipping. You might want to check it out...

# 16 Re: Just got the new Incase Sleeve for 3Gen iPods
i got my new case from extreme mac, I had one of theirs before for my 2G ipod. I prefer theirs because it protects the front from being bashed. The belt clips are very sturdy too.

I've seen this case in the store before, but didn't think I liked it. However, that pic and review makes me want to give it a shot.

Hey, how do the buttons and screen line up with the holes?
Does the plastic covering the screen bulge out?

# 19 Re: Just got the new Incase Sleeve for 3Gen iPods
I have the case too but my gripe is that it scratches the glass on the window of my iPod which is a big NO-NO...Also the belt clip is a big pain in the ### to clip onto your belt or anywhere else you want to clip it on (I like to clip my iPod to the pocket of my jeans or slacks) and it is so difficult to clip it on since it is connected to the case and the plastic is so hard to spread open. Ive switched to the Extremac DeluxeiPod Case which does the trick and is a much better quality case. This case is only $29.95 and the belt clip is very secure...I highly recommend this case to everyone.

What part is scratching the screen?
Can you post pics?
Thanks

I don't have a digital cam to take a pic but the LCD screen is all scratched up...I think, the clear plastic that covers the screen scratches the iPod or it could be the front top portion of the case where the SEAM is scratching the window...especially if your taking the iPod out of the case which could scrape against the case and cause it to scratch.
I just received a replacement iPod a few days ago and my interface is 100% scratch free, this is when i decided to invest in a new case and decided on the Xtrememac Deluxe iPod case....I don't recommend the Incase leather case...This will leave scratches on your most cherished investment.
# 22 Re: Just got the new Incase Sleeve for 3Gen iPods
I love my incase leather case i have the trifold for my 5 gig and it is nice leather and it really protects my ipod
# 23 Re: Just got the new Incase Sleeve for 3Gen iPods
about the screen scratching..
my dad has one of these, and i tried it out on my 10gb ipod, and it does not appear to have made any scratches on the screen or anywhere else.the suede actally rubs the fingerprints off the ipod if you slide it in and out a couple times. IT DOES NOT SCRATCH THE IPOD. the screen protector is very helpful too. For those of you using the extreme mac... i tried it out in the store and it did not seem secure. You are able to pry the ipod out of the steel frame. i want a firm fit, like the sleeve because i want to feel like my ipod is safe and snug in its case. Also the extreme mac is bulky and i dont like flip cases in general.
# 24 Re: Just got the new Incase Sleeve for 3Gen iPods
Hey I just got mine today. i was going to return because of the previous comments about it scratching the screen. However, mine did not make any new scratches so I am keeping it! I am actually selling my eXo2 that I just got (plug! go to classifides! :D )
I like how it leaves more of the actually pod visible than the skins, and it's so easy to put in and take out.
