maclear zip

There was an article here (check the archives, june) about a case called maclear zip (on sale at thinkdifferentstore.com)

What does everyone think of this case? I already ordered mine but the developer is still producing the boxes it comes in. I think it's pretty good from the LOOKS of it (emphasis on looks). It's a plastic baggie made of TPU, you put the ipod in and zip it, it has a liner in the zipper so the zipper doesnt scratch the ipod. Also since its slim you can use it with other cases. Like the official one. Ive seen alot of posts about a case called "the wrap" that is similar to this. but from what i can see the wrap is just a think piece of plastic like the one the ipod comes in. It seems like the perfect case, but noone talks about it. The only bad thing is that thinksecretstore said it was going to ship mid june, well it's mid june and the guy that makes em' says he's still producing the boxes, but that the maclear zip's are already done.

No one talks about it because it's just a ziplock bag, period.

Well, the wrap is just a piece of plastic that folds over the ipod. But people seem to rave over that..

No offence but it looks like a plastic bag with an oversized zip.

Oops, it IS a plastic bag with an oversized zip :-)

Probably does what it promises to tho' - keep your iPod dry from rain like an umbrella?

Well, niu-niu. If you like them get yourself one. I like the flipstand, but there has been very little talk about them, but that did not stop me from buying one and by the way I am very happy with it.

I plan on getting one.. I think it will work great protecting the ipod while taking it in and out of backpacks or what have you. I already have scratched my ipod from doing this so more protection will be great. I like the material they are using and the fact that it zips tight. I like taking my ipod out and placing it on my desk but still see the chrome/white.

niu-niu, don't worry, I'm waiting for my maclear case as well. A new product release is often delayed. It will serve as ample scratch protection-all I want in the pocket of my briefcase. I don't need cladding. Simple, elegant, pure, like the 'pod inside.

I'm also getting the zip case.

I don't like how the other cases look, with the opening for the buttons. I just can't get used to the way it curves around the buttons. I much prefer the completely clear design of the maclear zip. The pod looks gorgeous in the picture, especially in the case.

But I'm worried that the zipper will scratch up my pod. Are you sure it has lining in it? I didn't see that on the website. Also, do you know how to attach the belt clip? I don't want to have to stick anything onto the back of my iPod.

For the price, I think it's excellent! :D

--EDIT--
Oh, haha... the zipper lining was a subtitle on one of the pictures.
But I'm still wondering about the clip.

this is the best case for the ipod , hands down. Although, I do unzip the case to let the ipod "breathe" during the times I don't use it.

I would 3 people to do a test next week. I would like to send them 1 zip TPU case and the same case made from PVC to compare and then report on it

# 10 Re: maclear zip
Sign me up! I can compare directly to the last TPU case you gave me to test drive last time, so you'd only need to send me 1.

Yet another hijacked thread, ey?

I'd be honored to test the new material against your current Maclear Zip case (which I've been using for the past month), too, Mr. Lajo.

I am glad to see there are people interested in doing the comparison. Next week I will have them make both and then pick a number of you to try them and see what you think about PVC vs TPU

I'd like to try it too - if I'm not too late that is! I got a current macclear, but its deformed around the top so doesnt fit at all - doesnt matter as i use my eXo's - but i'd like to try one of the new TPU designs?

Lajo,

would also be interested in doing the comparison. You can see photos of my 15 and 30GB zip cases here:

Lajo, I would love to give a perspective of these cases with it being my first. Looks like you got plenty of volunteers though so I won't get my hopes up.

It looks like you got plenty of help but meeeee tooooooo ! If you need another opinion I'd be honoured. I'd like even more to test run your new blueeeeeeee glo exo cause I am very disappointed that my Skylite glows greeny yellow and not blue. I'll probably order another colour anyway but I am eagerly awaiting your new designs before my next investment.

and......it is friday night and I am at home with nothing to do. I could be testing how many times the zippers run open and closed open and closed open and.........

# 19 Re: maclear zip
I wouldn't mind testing it either - of course. ::grin:: I've already got the current MAClear Zip case on my 3G 40GB. The corners are still kinda inverted, but I understand that's just a matter of time. I'd love to compare it to the new one.

The balance of this week is a China holiday and everything has been closed down and Chinese are out partying. They will be back to normal on Monday maybe with a huge hang over but ready to rock.

We have gone one step ahead with zip and we are rapidly moving to the next step forward. There are about 3 things I want to make immediately improvements on and we are rushing about trying to get them done. In the meantime zip now is improved and the new eXo TPU zip cases are better than before.

We are thinking of going to the beach for a few days, there is a beautiful place just about 1.5 hrs from here. I use to go to the caribbean to do my swiming during the winter and this water is as warm. Someone should explain how to put up some pictures and I will be happy to give you a look at what China is like
