DLO Jamjacket (for new (3g) ipods)
I ordered one of these and it arrived today. I don't know if I'm stupid or what, but I don't get it. How is the armband meant to be used. There doesn't seem to be any way to securely fix it into place on your arm. Does anybody have this case? Does it work for jogging? How do you tighten onto your arm? It seems like it would just get loose as I run.

Hey kwag - Welcome to iPodlounge! :)
I can't help you with your questions as I do not have one of those cases, but I am going to move this topic to the Cases subforum where it more appropriately belongs.....

Initial build quality seems good. I haven't tried using my ipod in it yet (I'm at work and my ipod is at home). Couple possible problems are the velcro straps at the top seem very weak. There isn't much velcro there to hold it closed. It should have been a button or some other type of connecting system. The holes for the buttons my also be too small for my thumb. I'll know later when I try it and I will post more information.

First. I meant the action jacket, not the jam jacket. Oops. Second. I'm pretty sure I figured out how the arm band is supposed to be used. It's ok. I just kept putting my arm through the wrong hole. That's easiest way I can say it. I have no idea how to describe it. The case itself seems ok. I will probably keep it. There is a hole at the bottom for the dock connector but no cover (like the marware). I also feel like the shouldn't have tried to leave exact holes for the touch buttons. These buttons can be hard enough to activate sometimes and the holes limit your access. I will try it this weekend for some jogging and gym activity and see how it works.

Direct from the company:
ACTION JACKET STRAP INSTRUCTIONS
IN CASE STRAP IS FRESH OUT OF THE PACKAGING, UNTHREAD THE STRAP FROM THE LOOSE SLIDING PLASTIC BUCKLE AND PROCEDE TO STEP 5:
IN CASE STRAP IS DISASSEMBLED:
STEP 1: Un-loop and straighten out the strap with the plastic buckle in your left hand and the Velcro end in your right hand with the ?DLO? logo facing down.
STEP 2: Loop the loose sliding plastic buckle to the middle of the strap.
STEP 3: Fold Velcro end of strap underneath, feed through the bottom slot of the permanently attached buckle with the Velcro facing down.
STEP 4: Then thread the Velcro end through the top slot of the permanently attached buckle with the Velcro facing up.
STEP 5: Thread the Velcro end of the strap (Velcro side against the back of the AJ) under the black straps on the back of the action jacket.
STEP 6: Thread strap through loose sliding plastic buckle.
STEP 7: Fasten to the opposing Velcro patch to secure.
STEP 8: Slide your arm through the loop so that your arm comes into immediate contact with the back of the action jacket.
STEP 9: Adjust accordingly to fit around your arm.
For the record, I cut the entire loopong contraption off and went to a local tailoe who sewed the velcro onto the band itself. Now it is just a simple piece of armbad that velcros together, no loops, no adjustments and much simpler to use.
