Case Long-Term Reviews
To kick it off, I'll start.
I have a 10 gig (old) iPod. Bought it last Christmas and bought a white Groove Jacket shortly after I discovered the first scratches on my beloved 'Pod.
Overall, I rate the case a 5 out of 10.
Pros: very durable; provides decent drop protection; provides access to controls and jacks; looks great.
Cons: no protection for screen (though I cut a PDA write guard to size and it works great with the GJ); GJ gets dirty fast; fit with 10 gigger is not as tight as I would like; no clip, and 'Pod with GJ doesn't fit in the belt case that comes with the 'Pod; worst of all -- the dreaded rub marks that the case makes against both the metal and plastic surfaces (discussed elsewhere in this forum).
The case looks great, and I feel much more comfortable throwing my 'Pod in a bag or my pocket with the GJ on. But the darn thing causes more scratches than it protects (they're not really scratches, but it's almost as if the rubber material is rubbing off and sticking to the surfaces. I can't clean it off for the life of me though, so perhaps it really is scratching the surfaces?)
The case gets dirty fast. I've cleaned it with soap and water three times, and it looks dirty almost immediately after I next use it.
So... what do you think of yours?
