Vaja cases - expensive but worth it ??

I have been looking for a case for my new (old style) iPod. I'm looking for something to protect it in every day use, but is play-thru.

I've come across these i-vod cases from Vaja. They are **awsome** exactly what I was looking for. Classy, colorful, play-thru (I especially like the idea of the "push-thru buttons").

But MAN are they expensive!! $90 for a custom case is a bit much to swallow. But I keep going back to their web site to check them out. I think I want this almost as bad as I wanted my iPod.

Does anybody have one of these? Do you have the push-thru buttons? If anybody could give their impressions of this case for the iPod, I'd be grateful.

For those tho have not seen Vaja's cases yet, check them out HERE (http://www.vajacases.com/pda_eng.htm).

Hey, I don't have an i-vod case myself, but they look absolutely amazing. The quality and the time these people took to make this product are incredibly obvious. I'm sure the i-Vod is worth every penny and more that you pay for it. I can't wait till they come out with cases for the new iPods. I think I might have to ask for this case as a birthday present though, I'm a little poor.

Like the iPod they're built to protect, Vaja's i-vod cases are worth every penny. I just reluctantly parted with my custom Vaja i-vod case, since I'm selling my 20GB iPod with it's beautiful blue & black custom Vaja case on eBay to pay for my new 30GB iPod. You can bet the I will be the first in line to order a Vaja case when they come out with one that fits the 3rd generation iPods!

I also have a Vaja custom case for my Dell Axim PDA. Vaja has incredible attention to detail and does fantastic work. I wouldn't store my precious iPod or Axim in anything but a Vaja case. They also ship quite promptly -- in fact, my Axim case arrived almost a week before I expected!

Nothing beats opening up the box when your Vaja arrives and 1) seeing the love and care evident in their craftsmanship and 2) smelling that wonderful, high quality Argentinian leather. I had my iPod in a Vaja case for almost 6 months, used the 'Pod daily, and it never stopped smelling wonderfully new-leathery (of course, I admit to putting it up to my nose and inhaling...it's not like you'll walk into a room and everyone will be scoping you out to see where the leather scent's coming from! ;)

In my mind, Vaja is the ultimate leather case manufacturer. I can't even look at other leather cases for my electronics, after owning two Vaja cases. Others just can't compare.

Man, I want them to come out with that new iPod case soon...

I noticed that one of the cases made by Vaja has a magnetic closure... any issues using a magnetic device within millimeters of a hard drive?

I'm happy to see WildTexas's post, as I too am anxiously awaiting Vaja's release of iPod cases for the 3rd gen. iPods. I emailed them and got confirmation that they'd email me as soon as possible to get me on their pre-order list just as soon as pre-orders are being taken. I have never owned one, but I can just see they're amazing, and I love the custom-color option. :)

I checked out Vaja's site, and they listed the new 10, 15, and 30GB versions as "coming soon." Can't wait!

I believe that the Vaja line are some of the best-looking cases available for the iPod.

They're just as functional as the rest of the cases out there, but they look GOOD, they make your iPod look GOOD, and they'll make you look good when you use one!

Well... okay... maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, ;)

I may be out of the norm here, but the custom Vaja case I got for my PDA wasn't well fitted at all. It sure looks good in the Vitelino Chocolate leather though. I will not be spending "Vaja" type money for my 30GB iPod case.

Could you be more specific -- what PDA case did you buy from them (they make many). That would be helpful, rather than a blanket statement about all their PDA cases.

As to the question about issues with magnetic closures near sensitive electronics, I have had no problems with the (2 very small) magnets that secure my Vaja custom case for my Dell Axim. The thing the magnets *will* wreck havoc on are credit cards, so they do recommend (rightly so) that you not store credit cards in any case that you opt for a magnetic enclosure on. The magnets in my case are near the bottom of the PDA, far away from my Secure Digital (SD) memory card and the CompactFlash (CF) slot of my PDA. You wouldn't want magnets near those, either.

Toshiba e550g. Custom case in Vitelino Chocolate, no clip and no memory card pockets on the flap. What's not fitted very well is the portion surrounding the screen. It's a bit too tight and thus what's surrounding the screen doesn't lay flat. Rather annoying for a $90 case. Instead, I bought a Covertec for $30 and am 100% satisfied with the fit, finish and style.

I think that the custom price is a bit steep but otherwise I'd definitely buy one, go for it.

My favourite is the orange coloured case. Delicious!

They make great cases. I have one for my Tungsten Palm and am glad that I got it. As was mentioned, the build quality is second to none. I am also waiting for the release of the 3rd Generation case.

So, which should I get?
The case mentoined above, or the Martias iPod Armor?

Well, I'd get the Vaja cases for looks, but for protection, the armor seems like the way to go.

I recently emailed Vaja, asking when their new cases will become available. I can't wait to see what they come up with!
