15gb 2nd gen or 3rd gen?

Have a dilema. I would like to know what generation of Ipod should I buy. It seems that both generations come with all the same accessories, (like dock, remote etc.)

Seems also that it would be cheaper to get the 2nd gen. I have also heard that the 3rd gen is a bit weaker on the sound quality then the 2nd gen..

Also can someone explain something to me. I thought the only 3rd gen ipod come in 10, 20, 40 and NOT 15. How come 15 is not listed on apple website and why is the 3rd gen 15 even existent.. ??

15gb is a 3rd gen, which was replaced with the 20 gig. 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 are all 3rd gens identical in specs except for capacity. (30 and 40 are identical in size, 10, 15, 20 are identical in size)

So is there a 2nd gen 15gb? How can I tell them apart other then the box that it comes in?

No, there is no 2nd gen 15 gig
