help with newbie questions
Ok, I plan to purchase the new 15 gig model within the week, but I need some questions answered first. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
1) I've been browsing the forums, and read a lot of gripes about the new models. Should I opt for the now cheaper older models (like a 10 gig model), or are the problems on the new ipods rare and exaggerated? Are the new ones really THAT buggy? ANd if so, am i better off with the old models?
2) I plan to have my ipod delivered, and since I plan to buy the 15 gig, will ALL its accessories (cradle, remote, holder, etc.) be inside the box? And the 15 gig models (or all the new models for that matter) work on BOTH PC and Mac right? no more PC or Mac-only models like the old models, right?
3) And last, I ve been reading about some battery issues. I plan to use my ipod in the office (the whoooole day), if i just connect the ipod to the AC adaptor, i shouldnt have any problems, right? Will it use up battery power? I mean, that wont count as a charging cycle and drain the life expectancy of the battery, right? Same question goes if I use the ipod at home as a stereo system, plugging it thru the AC adaptor wont use up battery power right?
Sorry, but im really a newbie here, thanks for the patience and time.

The old models are a lot cheaper if you can find them. The 20GB iPOD sells for what a 10GB old style used to. More bang for the buck. However, the new ones have some new features, but shorter battery life, and they are coming out with some cool new docks to connect to your stereo and what not. Eventhough the gen3s are a little buggy, I'm sure a firmware update will take care of the bugs (opinion only)

Yes, all the accessories will be inside the box of the 15GB iPOD (if bought brand new). Yes, the new iPOD will work for both the PC and the Mac (make sure you read the directions and follow them closely)

If you use your iPOD in the office connected tot he AC adaptor you should have no problems with the battery draining (same for the stereo). However, I would recommend that you do not continually charge the iPOD like that. It is a portable mp3 player after all.

i have one last concern though. Is it possible to overcharge the battery, like in cellphones? Like what if I forget left it plugged in the ac adapter the whole day or sumpin? Must I disconnect it immediately once its full?
thanks, and may i say this is the BEST ipod site for info, resources, and just plain hanging out if yer an ipod owner. Thaks.
