Yes, I have, and my niece and two nephews have done, too. Three friends have also bought refurbed iBooks.

You get what is, to all intents and purposes a new iPod, with all the trimmings and usually with all the packaging too. You get a full guarantee. You get a pod that's been more rigorously tested than a new one. You get a new battery and a new enclosure. You save a shedload of money. I simply don't understand why people bother buying new, like I did with my first Pod.

It doesn't seem worth it to go to the hassle of upgrading for 5gb gain.

Go for a refurb 30gb.

I, too, have bought refurb from Apple and have always been pleased.

However, I bought a 2G 10gig almost 2 weeks ago at the Apple Store and since then have been put off and have had to renew my order three times. Not shipped yet. I wonder what the holdup is? I know they aren't retooling to make more:rolleyes:

I jsut sold my 2g 10GB ipod with intents of buying a 3g 15GB ipod. Though I am hearing bad news about the 3g abtteries and touch buttons. Are you unhappy with the functionality of your 3g? Or are you only getting rid of it because you can get a 2G with more space for cheaper? Let me know. THANKS!!

I just bought a refurb 15GB 3G iPod from Apple. I ordered on 9/14 and it is shipped and I should get it on Tuesday. :D I did have one delay in the shipping..it was pushed back from 9/17 to 9/19. No biggie. Although it *would* have been great to get it today as I was originally told so I could tinker with it all weekend! Oh well...

This is my very first pod, so I hope to be pleased with my choice of going the refurb route.

You ordered on 9/14 and they already shipped it? I ordered the refurbished 15GB iPod from Apple web site on 9/10, and the shipment got delayed several times. First they said it won't be shipped until 9/16, then 9/18, and now 9/22. How did you get your order from 9/14 to ship before mine?

Thats crappy, i ordered the 10th too, originally said 9/12, then 9/16, then 9/18, and now 9/22. It better be shipped out then or im gonna be mad. They shouldn't be selling iPods that they don't have, its false advertising.

Yeah that sucks. But the question we need to ask is why people who ordered later than 10th is already getting their iPod shipped while we are still waiting on our order? Don't they have a first-come-first-serve policy?

I called before and was told that the refub takes time and they estimated availablilty wrong, and that i would be first in line b/c i ordered before most other people. Apparently thats just a lie. Apple isn't doing to well so far. This is why i stick to PC's.

Yeah, I ordered via the website 9/14. I also ordered one of the iNCASE belts which was delivered to me seperately on 9/18. The iPod itself was delayed from shipping on 9/15...to 9/17 and finally to 9/19. Late this afternoon I got an e-mail w/ an Airborne tracking number saying it was shipped today. I have no idea how my order was shipped before yours. :( There is definately something wrong with that scenario if you ordered 9/10. Are you also in the US? I would call Apple and see what's up.

Yep, im in the USA. What a bad system they have, they can't even get a straight answer whether they have the refubs in stock, and now this happens. Apple is a joke.

oh wow, i dont like the sound of this delaying stuff one bit. i live in canada so i had to wire transfer the funds to apple (cause they cant accept a canadian credit card...wt?!) and getting it shipped to a friend in new york. i hope all goes well but it seems sort of screwy on apples end. why dont they have refurb deals in canada?
