Running with iPod

Can I run with Ipod? Running lasts at least 40 minutes??

I read somewhere on this forum before that the hard drive gets a little annoyed if you run consistently without stopping for over half an hour: something about it being OK in the start, but that the bad sectors will eventually build up. Also, if you were to do so, it's better to perhaps either keep it in hand, buy a holder that attaches to your waist or arm, or otherwise keep it somewhere to which you can keep the jolting to a minimum.

[I believe some person in the said thread also said that pausing your exercise to allow the skip buffer to do its work every twenty minutes or so will circumvent the music stopping due to the hard drive being unable to buffer properly.]

I've never heard anything about bad sectors being created. I think the issue is that if you're jogging and the buffer needs to be reloaded then it can freeze up.

The dual-platter models are more prone to this.

Make sure you either hold it or put it somewhere where it can be the least subjected to jarring (i.e. not on your hip).

Maybe they should make a hat to hold ipod, as that jolts less when you run.
