Anyone else experiencing this problem:

Scenario:

1) iPod is off
2) I insert the remote control/headphones
3) use the play/pause button on the ipod to start the music

Problem:

The volume control does not work on the remote. All other buttons on the remote work.

Workaround:

1) Start playing a song on the iPod using the normal buttons (touch sensitive ones on the iPod)
2) Insert remote/headphones

When I do this, the volume control works fine on the remote.

This is an issue because I like to have only the remote visible in my car while I'm using the iPod. That way I can start it up using just the remote and keep the iPod stowed away.

Can any new iPod owners please test yours to see if it is a universal or isolated problem?
