Battery usage while playing AAC vs MP3

Does anyone know if playing AAC uses up a different amount of battery than MP3 at the same bitrate? I would imagine that if it did, it would use more, but I am just checking.

I doubt it

AAC should use less battery since it uses a lower bitrate for the same amount of quality, therefore the 32MB it loads into the buffer contains more music, and therefore it doesn't need to spin up as often, thus lengthening the battery life...

Although, I think the spin-up method the new iPods use (spinning up after every song) makes everything I just said completely untrue...

At the SAME bitrate the files will be the SAME size. So it wont affect the 32 mb buffer.

I think Igno wants to know if it requires more power to decode aac because it's compressed more than mp3. This might be, but I can only imagine it to be very very little, so it can't really be measurred.

Yeah, I should have specified what I meant, but thats it. I guess if the main reason for increase battery usage is disk spinning, then it shouldn't really.
