Please help - my ipod frozen on the "apple"logo for ages...
Could anyone give me the clue...?
When i transferring the songs to my ipod yesterday. The ipod just hang. I thought it is usual issue so i just simply restart it "menu+play" ...afterward ,I tried many many many time to restart and boot it up, it just show me the apple logo until the battery ran off.
When i connected the firewire,it just heat up (i think it is recharging ) but nothing further response.
Could anyone please help if any things i can do manually ?
or i have to return back to warranty?
1. If I use EPHPOD instead of MMJ, do i still got the warranty?
2. Is that ipod is international guarantee? coz i purchased it from US but i am study in UK ......

1. try a reset whilst the ipod is plugged into the a/c adapter.
2. see if you can get your ipod manager to run the diagnostic programme. maybe your hdd is defective.
3. ephpod or mmjb has nothing to do with the warranty. so you still have your warrenty.
4. apple?s warrenty is international as far as i know, so you can take it to an apple store in your area. nonetheless, there is no need to mention you bought it in the us, since the ipod is the same and it has nothing to do with your problem.
best of luck. let us know if you were able to solve the problem. maybe someone will chip in with a better idea.
edit: nice one, schk! looks like a solution to the problem. :)

I am formatting my ipod now following the steps of the link in above.
It seem to ok now...(hopefully)
But i am still worrying the ipod i am using is not "stable" enough,
coz it used to a MAC formatted(which my friend brough me the wrong version) so i send back to US to adapt the window format.
Is that the reason that make it less stability?
Coz sometime i found difficulty to update the "ituneDB"/"itunesDB.backup" when i am using ephpod 2.6f
and someone when i uploaded 10G into it, the itunesDB just turned to 0size(it means turn back to empty), i have to rebuild the DB everytime when i using ephpod..
(sigh too many hassels)
ps: do you think it is good time to get a ipod30G how's it performance and stability in window"?
Do you think my case is really odd, or just bcoz ipod don't like windows? (i am using winxp)
Many thanks x1000
Thanks for reply me so quick !
i love this forum

by the way..
Do you think it's the problems bcoz of my songs are all came from internet, so ipods can't recognise the various standard of mp3?
Is that the main reasons i turn up many problems?
Sometime when i using ephpod to upload the songs, an error msgs said "the songs cannot save to ipod".
I have no other choice coz MMJ will make even more worse, i hardly upload anysongs by mmj.
