they are selling for whole sale, Be sure to call the person before you buy it. For all you know, it could be refurb, or damaged because most ebay people just use the apple website pictures.

dont buy ipods throough ebay...not recommended
i remember there was this person who bought it through ebay, he had problems dealin with people from apple for a replacement simply because he bought it from ebay...

There are a lot of factors that come into play when you decide to buy any product from EBay. Of course what you notice is that the more expensive the product is...the more danger of it being a broken down piece of junk. For instance i purchased a laptop through EBay. I was careful too--looking for personal pictures and telephone numbers--however when i recieved the product, the monitor just wouldn't turn on. Called the number that was once active..but then disconnected. Terrible first experience but we all learn to move on. Don't get me wrong..i'm not even recommending you to avoid EBay...as far as i know, many people from this forum rely on ebay to sell their old products and it is also where i plan to sell my own ipod when a new one comes out "some-year"...Just keep your eye out and i agree with infamous...get in touch with the person and see how is rating is. Plus i would expect anybody who purchases from ebay to have trouble getting a *replacement* from Apple.

I've had nothing but good experiences in my dealings with ebay so far, but they have been for pretty obscure items. With something wildly popular like an iPod, the possibility of fraud is huge. I'm glad you decided to wait, I would have suggested it.
