how do you keep the blacklight on?

If you want to turn your "blacklight" on wouldn't you wait until it's dark outside or turn off the room lights? Well I guess then everything would look black, just kidding, now I gotta get "black" to work :)duckee at 2007-11-15 14:16:29 >

Actually I understand exactly what the original poster is asking for. I don't want the backlight to come on a number of seconds every time I push a button, I just want to control how long it stays on when I manually turn it on... I rarely turn on the backlight, but when I do I'm likely in an airplane, etc, and need it to stay on for at least 30 seconds.
Such an option would be very appreciated by myself (and apparently others).

Exactly, I don't use the backlight very often, and when I do, I turn it on manually for extended periods of time when browsing my songs in the dark. It becomes really annoying when I need to turn the backlight back on every 20 seconds or so.

Just set it to "always on".Then use the "hold menu" function to manually turn the backlight on/off. When it's off, it stays off until you hold the menu button again where it stays on until you turn it off manually again.
