pcmcia firewire power

I have just bought a pcmcia firewire card which has a connector on the front to recieve external power.
Does anyone know what voltage and polarity this should so that I can set my mains transformer accordingly and not toast the ipod?

I suspect the correct voltage depends on your card.

Mine is generic 3 port card.

12 volts, 1000mAh, center positive.

What size plug does your card have?
