im soooooo frustrated
PLEASE HELP!
I just got my iPod (10GB- open box item) and the only thing it's done is lock up on me- and that took two freaking days! Here's the deal:
First, my computer wouldn't even recognize the thing. After piddling with it for two days, it finally recognized it. So... I set out to erase what the gentleman had on it before me via the "reset." The apple came on, and after 1/2 hour and many unplugs, button pushes with and without a/c connected, it is still frozen with the apple logo.
If I had known this was going to be this frustrating, I wouldn't have gotten it. Please help, I think my wife is ready to divorce me... ;)

Can you clarify a little for us?
What type of computer are you using? Windows or Mac? When you said "reset" did you mean reset or restore. They are two very different things.
What kind of firewire card do you have (if it's a PC).
Oh and if it's a PC, what OS are you running?

Yes, sorry, a little frustrated...
I'm running on Windows ME, and I just installed a 3-port firewire card by Siig (which works and registers fine according to my system properties).
I don't know how I did it, but once, and only once, I got my computer to "recognize" my ipod (labeling it an "f" drive). Using the 1.3 updater, I restored it (I'm fairly certain); the updater said that this would erase everything on there. And it's been stuck ever since, only now it gives me the "out of battery" display, even though it's been fully charged for two days, in addition to the apple display. I've tried the pause/play and menu reset while I was both plugged and unplugged, and I get nothing.
I'm really sorry if I sound stupid... I'm brand new to this. Thanks for your help.
