iPod, MusicMatch and CopyControl.

Hello

I recently bought the new Radiohead album and I of course wanted to transfer it to my iPod so I could listen to it on the go. To my surprise I discovered that only 10 seconds of every track was recorded into MusicMatch and hence transfered to the iPod!

I then noticed the CopyControl sticker on the CD and I guess that's what's preventing the CD from being copied.

BUT - isn't it legal to make a digital copy of your purchased music if it's for 'your ears only' and you're not distributing it?? And therefore, isn't it legal to transfer music to your iPod as long as you have paid for it?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking any of you to find a way for me to copy the entire CD. I'm just curious about the legal aspects of it...

Thank you.

Media Center ripped the Radiohead album fine for me. Never tried MM. The legal argument is one big grey area, don't go there :).

If you look at this thread ( http://ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2373) you'll see that this particular album has been pretty easily transferred to some iPods.

Welcome to the iPodlounge!
