Battery or AC adapter??

Hi there,

I just put my hands on a 2G 20GB iPod (brand new, and cheap :D ) a couple of weeks ago. So far, very happy with it.

My question is, since i'm using it every day at work, is it better to use it on the battery, and let it get low and recharge it, and doing that, let's say, every 3 day. Or, just plug it with the AC adapter all day long, so it will be fully charged all the time?

What is the best of both options for the battery/iPod life?

Thanks a lot! :)

Best thing to do from what I've read is to keep it connected while listening if you can. This will bypass the battery and let you have a longer life.

Or so we've been told.

Thanks for your answer!

I was confused on how it really work. When it's plugged, is it still using the battery or not... I'm kind of lost there...

Anyway, if it's spare the battery life, it's perfect for me. I stay in the front of my computer almost all day, so there's no problem there...

Thanks again!

Yeah... I'd like to know about whether being in the Dock uses up the internal battery too :D

It's strange: I find myself using my iPod to listen to music at my desktop even when I could be using my computer...

Is there a way I can put my iPod in the dock and NOT have it mount?
I want it to charge but I still want to be able to play music while it's charging.

On a Mac - just "eject" it but keep it in the dock and it should still charge without being mounted as a disk.

On the PC, it mounts, and I have to unmount it to accomplish what you want. I haven't found a way to put it in without the initial mount.

You can't. Just connect it, unmount it and you're done. It does take just a second...

It's not a matter of opinion. It seems that nobody knows the actual facts on this, unfortunately.
