Yet another battery question

I was just wondering... when the battery is charged, and you're using it from the Dock, is it running on mains or the battery?

I would assume the mains, but I could be wrong.

In other words, does it use up battery life while it's in the Dock?

I don't think it does, because it would defeat the point of using the iPod in the dock. But I don't know for sure.
