iPod sound quality website launched
Hi,
I just launched my website containing some info on bitrates, MP3 vs. AAC, and some headphone comparison. Take a look if you're interested:

Yeah, I'm not a fan of weird JavaScript tricks.

Yowser and it even causes that effect detested by usability guinea pigs everywhere...
A horizontal scroll bar - yikes!
Admittedly in this case very minor, but still annoying. Would recommend a style sheet on the site too TNR sucks. Other than that great idea ;)

Another point:
You must have been really sick of Tori Amos after all that re-encoding and listening ;-)

Thats a nice jscript trick, hehe...see if you can apply it as the page it loaded rather wait till its ALL loaded. Horizontal scroll bar must go!

I'll fix the problem with the javascript. Obviously, a PC scales the window differently from a Macintosh, where I don't see any scroll bars.
I must admit scaling the window can be annoying if my website is not opened in a new window, because you have to scale back the window if you leave it. But it's a trade-off. I also don't like websites that scale text to the full width of my window, making lines about impossible to read. The layout is made for a specific width, just like a magazine, so that's the way I want to present it.
I'll try this evening to create a button enabling to scale the window to the right proportions, instead of automatically load it when opening the site.
Until then, I hope the contents is valuable enough to forget a bit about the web format.

OK, ignoring the discussion of javascript ('cause FireBird filters it all out ;)), lots of good work there, Marc. I'd read that Stanley Kuo quote on HydrogenAudio regarding Best versus Better, but I wasn't comfortable enough without more detail. It was very nice to see the independent verification that you did by subtracting one file from the other. I'll stop wasting my time with Best and stick with the faster and equal quality Better.

Now the window only scales if you click on the iPod. The horizontal scroll bar should also be vanished.
Enjoy the site.

I also added a comparison with the Tungsten and Dell Latitude C400, and explained how to be able to access the best/better/good future in Quicktime Pro.
I'll add a comparison with the iBook and Cube later this week.

Re: Hygeine of In-ear canalphones (ER-4P/S, shure E2's)
They are actually quite clean, provided to take care of your ears, and use the plastic inputs versus the foam inputs...
...I am speaking with experience with Shure E2s, which are the same style, only of a lesser build quality (although not much of a difference). Sound is great, as it naturally reduces noise and provides for a more personal environment, and style is sleek, perfect for those who really need the phones to be portable.

I've updated some of the pages, and I've added some measurement pages.
