Im over scratch phobia!
With my old 20gigger, I was paranoid about scratches so much. I got 15gigger a month or two ago and got it in return for 20gigger store credit, and unfortunately i carried over the same disease. after a month i said f*** it and now i'm getting good wear and tear out of my Pod! My phobia is over and I'm fully enjoying the nakedness of it! (i know this is semi-offtopic but its something i should announce and celebrate!)
p.s -- i might just might get iskin eXo down the road just cause they look cool ;)

# 4 Re: Im over scratch phobia!
right on guys! we should have a section on the forum stated "Scratches Annonymous" and start it by saying it "I'm jerry and i have a scratch problem. i keep wrapping the ipod with saran wrap when i should be protecting my sandwiches from germs in my bookbag" :p
# 5 Re: Im over scratch phobia!
AMEN!!!
I was exactly the same way until I just realized that I cover it up with protectors and all that crap, and I never see it, so whats the friggin point?!!?!? Its an music player, not something I should fawn over, and I am now gonna go naked from now on unless I am working out or something of that nature!!! Just so I can carry it of course;)

i dont get these skin-tight ipod cases
whats the point of having a case that prevents your ipod from getting scratched if ur never going to take it off? :P
nowadays i just rest easy in the knowledge that if i do manage to scratch my ipod, some elbow grease and the tiniest amount of brasso is going to make it all rosy again :) i've only had 1 'not so hairline' scratch on it so far, and i dont know how i got it
on a different note, my dock is covered in little hairline scratches and it's never left my desk :| what the hell is that about

I would rather have a scratch than have a horrible looking plastic Mp3 Player.

You'd probably get thrown off a plane if you brought that thing on....
# 11 Re: Im over scratch phobia!
Heck, everyday I put a new scratch on mine for good measure..
Ok, just kidding.
But like my grandfather used to say, scratches are good--it means you're getting good use out the item...

Right on, guys. Take scratches like real men, none of those sissy 'cases' to 'prevent scratches' :D
# 14 Re: Im over scratch phobia!
I guess all the psychotherapy helped. Or having cats and kids. It never occurred to me that I could keep the iPod pristine. On the other hand, I do keep it in a case...maybe some remaining conflicts linger. I'd like to be a good Buddhist and without attachments, but I do like my iPod.

*stands up* "Hi everyone, my name is Dr. Zoidberg and I have a problem."
Everyone: "Hi Dr. Zoidberg!"
"You see, I'm afraid that my iPod is going to get scratched." *breaks down and sobs*
Everyone looks puzzled. Random person: "Um, okay...don't worry, we're all here for you. We can help you get over your fear of flying."
"What...flying? What do you mean? This is not a help group for iPod users?"
Random person: "Uh...no........ Um, I think you should leave."
*slowly backs away*
