After buying a 15GB 3Gen ipod (which I love to bits) a month ago and visting the iPodlounge almost everyday since, today I finally joined! Love the site!

Anyway I was messing around with OS X's character palette in international preferences and discovered symbols could be inserted to track names and playlist names etc, and be displayed on the iPod. Symbols such as hearts, stars, copyright symbols and so on, but some which the iPod could not display. Great!!

I found this a good way to seperate playlist into groups by placing a symbol infront of the name so that the iPod did not display the character but placed the playlist at the top of the list.

This works with the more complex symbols which cant be displayed by the ipod and each symbol is placed in a hierachy so one symbol displaces another which is lower. Give it a try and you will see what I mean.

I guess this can be used on windows os aswell? Hope I havent repeated someone elses findings..
