Is your iPod full yet? how many gigs?

I have about 57 GB of music (getting smaller since I'm re-encoding everything in AAC) and a 5 GB iPod... so mine's always full! :cool:

I've got a small library.
With my 15gigger, I still have about 5-6gigs free.

I have a 5 gig and I'm down to 98.8 mb available. Gonna have to start being a little selective pretty soon.

i have a 15gb and about 9.7remaining, but ive hardly ripped half my collection yet

I have a 20GB that's full, but I have about 40GB total on my computer. I like the sound of the new 30GB.

Can any off you who have a 20G iPod full or about 7 G or more the more the better, Im trying to make speed tests for a DB Viewer and my iPod dosn't have more then like 3 gigs or 5 and I need to test large amount, I need the file iTunesDB can anyone with a full iPod send me that File?

My friend and I are working on a new software for Windows its like EphPod Xplay etc...

We wanna test our DB Viewer, I have a 20G windows iPod but around 5G of music on it cause i havn't edited all my mp3 yet.
We were wondering if anyone had a full iPod of mabe 20G full so we can test teh speed of viewing so many files in our DB Viewer we would need the file iTunesDB located in the folder iPod_Control > iTunes the file is iTunesDB.

If any one can send it to us we would be greatfull remember only if you have around 15G or more 20G full would be great to test, tag must be edited.

relax buddy its just a copy of a file called iTunesDB nothing more showing what stuff u got on your ipod there is no way to get your music off that file.

but if u don't want to then ok, fine I don't care Ill just go t a friends and upload his music onto my ipod to get a full 20G so then i can check if the viewer can view so many files.

Mine is not even close to full. I have a 30 gig with 5.2 gig on it. I am never going to fill this thing

Just replaced my defective 20 gig with a brand spankin' new 30 gig. I have 10 gig on it right now and will probably dump another 5 or so on over the next week.

17GB full...I have the 30GB ipod, of course.

To give you an idea, I have 275 cd's ripped at 192k that takes up 19gb. Seems the average cd size is 80mb give or take.
Man that is great info. I am about to start in on my CD collection (over 400), so this info will come in handy.

I don't know how you guys can have 200+ GB of music. I have maybe 25 GB if im lucky, and I find that its pleanty of music.

I may not have that much, but I buy at least 50/60 CDs per year, and that for the last 10+ years.

In my case, not all of them will get mp3-ed, or aac-ed; not enough HD space right now, and not enough time to ripped them.

So, just to extend that, if everything were ripped at 128k (AAC), that would be about 13gb, and an average of about 54mb per disk.

Looks like I'll probably break 15gb.

Anyone else want to chime in so that we increase the accuracy of this calculation?

OK, I just decided to a little direct math.

128kbps = 56 MB/hr, so 15 GB = 274 hours (of course, not all of the 15 GB is available). Assuming a 50 minute album (is that a good assumption?), 329 albums on a 15 GB.

Maybe the 15GB will be OK after all.

My library is approaching 1GB at the moment...it has grown from a measily 500MB when I first got my iPod at the beginning of this week :p

Getting my iPod tommorrow (still thinking of names, iKeaner seems like the leader) which is a 20giger gen2. Worst part: my entire mp3 collection as of now (just the songs i like, having a 30gig HD with many programs installed forces u to limit your songs) is now 413mb. thats right, 1/2 of a gig...

Only 3 CD's and a few other choice songs.

Now that i look at it, that is extrodinaryily sad. Oh well, gonna have to go through all my dad's rock CDs and start rippin away!

EDITED: Just read another persons post about having 500mb when he started (ok, the page switching thing gets me everytime), and am not so discouraged anymore. Im just glad i spent the extra $5 for the Overnite shipping so i can get it in time for the trip to pitsburg!! whohoo!

I havn't got my Pod yet (did order it, yay!:D) but atm I only have like 1gb of music on my comp so it'll be ok for a while before it gets full.

(I'm VERY selective :D, basically unless it's a #1 hit in my book it won't allow to life)

My first iPod was a Gen1 10 GB (scrollwheel) that was always full.

Now I have a 30 GB Gen3 iPod, and it has about 17 GB of music on it (no contacts, appontments, notes or other data files), leaving about 10.9 GB free. What blows me away is I still have more free space than the total that was available on my first iPod.

But, I just bought a new CD today! ;) Still chipping away at that free space!

Edit : Anyway I have ~1300+ something Songs on my 5Gb gen 1 iPod. The ItunesDB is about 800kb in size and it takes some time browsing the database, how about you guys with 20 or even 30gb full ? You must have databases that exceed 3MB :eek: Isn't searching a bit sluggy then ?

i got a 30GB Ipod and i have about close to 9GB. my collection is always growing everyday of MP3
