Scrolling playlist?

I don't own any iPod yet and I was wondering how the scrolling works. If there is for example 100 songs in a playlist how long does it take to scroll from the beginning to the end? Is it hard to hit a song with the touch wheel?

And also, what's in the screen when iPod is in sleep mode?

I just tested, and on my old 5 gb scrollwheel iPod i can get from top to bottom of my entire library (1030 songs) in a little over 3 seconds. I think that's probably fast enough :) I've found the scroll wheel very easy to use and don't have any problems getting to a certain song. In sleep mode, there is just a blank screen (conserves more battery that way), unless the iPod is plugged in. In which case there is a battery charging icon.

Apple has set the scroll rate so that it increases speed the longer you scroll. In other words,, the longer you scroll, the faster it goes.

That is true with the touchpad scroll wheels, but not the case with the older ones. But you'll find no problem with it. On the touchpad you can jump around super quick or go nice and slow, you're choice.
