I've ordered tons of stuff from Dell, and though their computer might spit out a rediculously distant shipping date from time to time, I've never had to wait longer than a week, and usually get the item within a few days. Ordered a 30gb Ipod when I noticed the deal up on www.techbargains.com.I've found they've got the absolute best service of any online company. Any time an item has gone bad, they send a replacement immediately and it's almost always there the next day. Reading this forum though I guess my experiences have been atypical.

Does Dell offer any kind of service plan? I was wanting to get a 30gb from Best Buy with there 4 year service plan, but $100 off plus free shipping and no tax...seems like a great deal!Thanks,

Although the BEstBuys 4 year plan for 40 has pretty high praises... Makes your Ipod a good investment and if you ever decided to sell your Ipod the service plan IS transferable... Good value...
It almost might be worth it to spend the full price..

Good point! That is exactly what I am thinking. Hmmmmm...what to do?I checked out Dell's support page and you either have to register to go further (I don't have an account), or get support on an actual Dell computer.

Wow ... this is the second order I've made with Dell this week that's shipped the same day I ordered it. Ordered a 19inch LCD with the free 3-5 day shipping on Monday and it arrived Wednesday, and an Ipod and Ethernet switch this morning that should now be here tomorrow. I really love Dell's service, and if you want a warrantee just go to Best Buy, tell them you bought an Ipod from them but lost the recipt, and that you'd paid with cash (in case they try to reprint the recipt with your credit card as reference). They're not going to turn down the chance to take in money for a warrantee ... I've done it with them on numerous occasions. These days though, it's probably best to go to CompUSA or Circuit City for an extended warrantee ... I find they have better service than Best Buy overall.
