You can put video files on the iPod, but you won't be able to watch them. Oh, and the iPod works like any external firewire drive, so simply click on my computer, and drag and drop the files onto the iPod.

A bit off topic but... I hate the RIAA. Although sometimes its good to sit back and laugh,
"so now your threatening law suits against your customers? Ok... thats not gonna turn consumer opinion against you further is it now?"

I highly highly doubt that. The lack of firewire ports on home theatre products has nothing to do with that; it has to do with a majority of the consumer market having no interest in that. Are you just thinking of a way to bash the RIAA?

No I didn't come up with that idea out of the ether. I'm going out later and I'll check the article that I read. Basically it was comprehensive discussion of connectors including DVI, Component, VGA, Firewire etc. The article pointed out that DVI is now being included in some HDTV setups because concerns about piracy have been addressed. I'm not making any of this up. BTW you can play video off your iPod if it is enabled as a Firewire HD. You can even watch it on your TV full screen (with an enabled video card) and the quality is very good.
