Mac Windows IPOD Box Weight
I have a strange question. I own a Windows Ipod. Love it, love it. Recently got two others on sale (old model) as gifts. One is a Windows version and the other Mac Both 10gb.
The Windows box is noticeably lighter than the Mac box and I am very worried there is nothing in there. I don't want to break the seal as a) it's a gift amd b) I would then have to try and return it saying there was nothing in the box. Is there a reason the Windows box is lighter than the Mac box?

Edders, as far as I'm aware, there is absolutely no difference in the package contents for the two. Great thinking not opening the boxes... If I were in your position, I'd take them both back to the store right away and explain to a member of staff, then open them in their presence. I think you really need to check it out.

PS. I thought of another difference too - the Windows box probably contains a different CD. I doubt that affects the weight too much though ;-)

To help the guy out, let's tell him exactly what was in each box. Here's what was in my 10GB Windows iPod box:
- A handful of small manuals, warranty details etc.
- Musicmatch CD. (Top two items contained in small card envelope type thing).
- AC Adaptor.
- Firewire cable.
- 6pin -> 4pin adaptor.
- Case.
- Remote.
- Earphones.
- iPod. (Nearly forgot this one).
- Four foam covers for earphones.
- I think that's it.
Is there anything in the Mac one which could add to the weight?

Mine was a Mac box; no, there was nothing on top of that manifest, as far as I recall.

I returned it last night. They just took it back. The woman said "It feels empty". Yip, says I, that's why I'm returning it. I already have a Win 10Gb and it felt heavier too. My guess is it was empty. Maybe an employee snagged it or maybe some resealed the desplay model.
