Two weeks of use and my remote is getting discolored already!

I have a new ipod, which I've been using since it's release. The problem is, the shine on the remote has already started wearing off and getting a goldish discolored hue. Am I the only one having this problem? Will polishing with Brasso get rid of it?
I'm not sure why this happened so fast. It's not that big of a deal, but it's disturbing nevertheles. Are my fingers just super oily or what!?

ouch.. that's a pretty disturbing sign.. but since apple decided to go with the polished metal surface for the remote it's not surprising. try polishing it with a soft lint free cloth alone first, then if that doesn't work brasso might.. not sure if the printing on the buttons will be affected though

I'd try using a cottonball or soft cloth with alchohol on it (the kind girls use for getting nail polish off.)
If your buttons are getting yellow, this'll spruce them up. As for the metal, i dont think this is brasso's area. I'd give it a swipe with the alcohol cloth and pray it's all better.
If worse comes to worse, try to get a new remote from apple through their website (covered by warranty) or buy a new one at CompUSA.

yep.. that sounds good but i think it's not alcohol in those nail polish removers it's acetone.. really good for getting paint and superglue off skin (don't ask)

For clarification, it's the metal around the buttons and not the buttons themselves.

Since Brasso is a metal polisher, wouldn't it work?

Wait, i guess i see your point. But since the remote is so small its not very practical unless you press REALLY hard with a good q-tip.

And some nail polish removers do still contain alcohol instead of acetone. I was just said the kind in nail polish removers because i didn't want anyone cleaning the remote with a heinichen.
