Shuffle Songs Problem

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has some advice for me.

I'm having problems with the user interface, and not sure what to do.

I have a playlist set up for my workout while running.

When running, I set the player to autorepeat one song. This is so I can run a a specific pace. At some point, I move on to the next song and repeat it for a while.

I can do (advance to next song) with my CD player by pressing the >>| button. It then autorepeats that new song over and over.

However, on the iPod, it appears that pressing >>| when autorepeating one song takes you to the beginning of the existing song. This means that the |<< and >>| keys do the same thing in this mode!

I have never seen another device that behaves this way.

Can anyone provide suggestions to help me with this?

The only work around I've been able to come up with is to hit the menu button, scroll down to the next song, and select it. As you can imagine, this is very annoying to do while running.

Thanks!

This is not a full answer but it would be a work around. You could make a playlist that included multiple copies of each song though you would have to guess how long you want to run at a particular tempo!

If it changed to the next song too early you could jump back a couple and if you wanted to advance you could hit forward till the next song came on.

Because playlists are just links, you wouldn't end up storing multiple copies of the songs.
