When using IPOD with dock - Is it still taking power from battery?

Hi,
I wondered if once the IPOD is connected to the dock via firewire is it taking pwer from the mains of the PC or is it still taking power from the battery?
If from the battery how do you use it as a mains powered appliance.

No - when pluged to the mains - it is using the mains power!

Are you sure MonkeyIceCube? As far as i know before 2.0.1 it was using power from the bat?! Could u check this?
(i can`t since i`m still f****ing waiting for mine to arrive)(for a month!!!!!!!!)
