What was your wait?

it was suppose to be a week, but turned out to be only 2 days.
story:
i planned on getting a zen and had already ordered one from dell for $230 shipped. however, i did more research about the ipod, and the fact that i could get a 15% because my brother works at one of the stores was the deciding factor for me.

so i called him up, asked him to get me a 10gb with dock, he said "sure i'll buy it today". i called him that nite wanting to pick it up from his house and he told me he forgot. understandable, but hard to bear as i was so ancy.

anyway, the next day i take the 30 min drive up to the store to pick it up, and he's not there. i call him and he says "i left for the day, i forgot, sorry. but talk to blah blah at the store and mention my name and he'll get you the discount". i'm like "cool". so i talk to him, and he tells me they're outta stock. this is when i start really getting peaved. :mad: so i go home with no ipod and a bad attitude.

so i talk to my brother and he says sorry i really f***** up. i said "no problem" (although it kinda was to me, but i didn't want to burn my bridges, and my brother would never get mad at me). so he says "how about i buy you the 15gb and i'll pay the difference". i'm like sweeeeet. so he picked it up the next day and dropped it off at my house.

i've been extremely happy since except for the fact that mine skips during the beginning of the song every so often. so it's gonna have be exchanged. whew that was a long story. :D

I waited until they came out with a windows version.

My business partner and I walked into CompUSA to kill some time. We walked up to the counter, saw the 20Gb sitting there, and said "Why not?!" We each walked out with a 20Gb and an Adaptec 4300.

About 5 months later we saw the 30Gb on the Apple site. That night we went to Best Buy bought them. Supposedly Best Buy had just received them the day before.

My fianc?e and his girlfriend received the 20Gb units. :D

15 minutes because of traffic

I first started cooking my iPod aquisition plan in Feb. I told my wife that all i wanted for my b-day (May 7) was an iPod and that she should collect $$ from all my family and friends to get it done. I offered to cover any shortcomings. She actually bought a g2 10GB the Friday before the g3's were announced. I knew they were coming and we managed to return the g2 and get the g3 15GB for the same money.

So 3 months! But boy did it feel longer than that!

I bought my 2G Windows iPod the day that they came out. I couldn't wait so I went straight to my local Apple Store and bought one. That was last October(?).

I was on vacation in Thailand when the 3G iPods came out. Again, I couldn't wait so I ordered one online at a cyber-cafe and it arrived the day after I got back from vacation.

When the 4G's come out, you can bet your @ss I'll be the first one in line at the Apple Store.
