transfering music from Ephpod to ipod...

God I'm sick of this! I hate my iPod!!!!!

this is the thousandth problem I had in my first two days.

OK so I have an album on Ephpod and I wanna load it to my iPod-that's the point right? putting songs on that freaking 400 dollar ipod?

Nothing happens. I click add song. add directory. I click file and view and search for the right command but alas, nothing happens.

My ipod is next to me displaying "do not disconect."

edit: btw I still never had a single song uploaded to the ipod.

OK I now have several albums on my ipod...

Here's the thing though:

I found them after disconnecting my ipod despite the don't disconnect warning. since the songs were downloaded, why did it still say don't disconnect? and isnt there a screen on ipod that shows songs being transfered?

Oh and what is "no orphan songs found" message from ephpod?

I will preface my answer by saying I own a 2G iPod for Windows and I've just recently started using ephpod. That being said, here are two general observations regarding your inquiries:

1. My iPod doesn't look any different when it's downloading songs or just sitting there like a bump on a log, so long as it's connected to the PC. Maybe the 3G is different.

2. I wouldn't recommend disconnecting your iPod while it's displaying the "do not disconnect" message. Check your system tray for the iPod icon. If you right click on it while it's connected to your PC, then an option for "unmount" will display. Click on that and then wait a few seconds. The iPod should display the message "OK to disconnect" and then a window will come up on your PC monitor saying it's OK to disconnect the iPod. From other posts I've read here and elsewhere, I think it's a pretty sound idea to go through the umount procedure for any external HDD, iPod or otherwise.

3. Re: the "no orphan songs found" message, I get that too after I sync. Never noticed it being a problem.

Hope this helps you love your iPod a little more! If it were legal, I think I'd marry mine! :)

Having the "no orphan songs found" message, is a good thing. I may be wrong, but I believe that it means that all the mp3's tags are correct.
