Apple will ask for your enrollment number and your university. They might ask for some sort of proof of status in which case get certification from your registrar, scan and email them a copy

from the UK apple education store? they ask on the front page for your enrollment number and university. That said the HE Contract store doesn't ask for anything if you access within the university intranet so maybe I'm talking baws

When I access the Apple UK Educational Store, all it asks for is the institution name and city, nothing about enrollment numbers.

maybe I am talking baws then. I thought the enrollment number was requested but seemingly not.

That said, how do they discriminate then?

Well I just ordered my 15 gig ipod via the apple's educational website today and it never asked me for student id or enrollment papers. I placed the order and that was it. I did it in my comfort of my home. BTW I live in the US.
