ipod gen3 15GB: Contrast Dark out of Box?

Just a quick question for you guys - when I took my new ipod out of its box, the contrast was way, way too high. I had to use the contrast adjustment and lower it to its absolute minimum setting. The screen looks perfectly normal now, but I'm wondering if everyone had to do this?

i found myself lowering to contrast too. i believe there is a different type of screen, so maybe that has something to do with it.Jackie at 2007-11-15 14:16:51 >

The iPod I got on launch day had to have it's contrast turned up to 75%. Same with all the iPods at the two Apple Stores I've visited. The replacement iPod I got has to have it's contrast at 20%, which is what I think all iPods made now need to be at.Phil at 2007-11-15 14:17:51 >

I just got mine 2 weeks ago, and the contrast was set WAY too high. It was pretty hard to read the screen out of box.amarkhard at 2007-11-15 14:18:50 >

Interesting. I received mine about a week ago, from the apple.com store. Luckily, I don't think my screen would look better if I was able to lower the contrast anymore. I can't, because its at its minimum setting now, so hopefully I wont ever need to lower it more.irq at 2007-11-15 14:19:55 >
