To little hard drive space

I have the 15GB iPod. And when you buy a 15 GB iPod, you expect to get 15GB right?? Cause I only have 13,8 GB availible space.. I have tried to restore it, and I have the latest 2.0.1 version..

Is this normal!? I know hard drives haven't always the space it says it does, but this difference is grater than on my 80GB PC hard drive!

that is what it is supposed to be.

bytes are calculated differently, 1024 to 1000

no, its called formatting. some of the space gets used up by the filesystem structure. its used for sector addressing and things.

Once again, you're both right. The majority of space is taken up by the byte calculation difference. There's a tiny bit for file system, but most is the difference in byte calculation.
