Help my new Ipod is constantly crashing!?
Anyone know what to do please?

EDIT: It gets worse, the screen has now broken up, like the display has shifted and is overlapping :confused:

Yup straight up its crashing everytime I attempt to play a song!? I can navigate the menu ok but as soon as I play a song it just freezes and won't let me do anything? If I then put it into the dock it usually comes to life after about 5 minutes but its almost like it is lagging, for example the backlight suddenly comes on all by itself before it eventually displays 'Do not disconnect', whereupon it appears to be charging or something.
Anyone know what to do please?

...but wait there's more! :( My ipod has now officially gone dead!:eek:
It no longer turns on, just sits there with a blanc screen, this is crazy. After the restore it appeared to be fine, uploaded the songs no problem and played a few tracks and all was well. I then finished playing with it and just left it sitting on the desk for about 15 minutes, but upon returing found the Ipod in a dead state, refusing to respond to any buttons I press. I have tried placing it in the dock and even tried it through the mains adaptor but it still proceeds to sit there with a blanc screen, totally unresponsive :confused:

congrats, you have just experienced the infamous "wont wake up from sleep" bug. There are some suggested temporary fixes in this board.That first scare you reported was pretty alarming though. If it happens again, i suggest you have it exchanged. However, if what you experience is just the wont wake up from sleep bug, well, welcome to the buggy world of gen 3 ipods.
Cmon apple, throw us gen 3 owners a frickin bone here.

I'm just reporting to say that it has been working ok since the problem occured yesterday and I am now very much enjoying my new 15GB Ipod (for now anyway) :)Thanks for the responses, much appreciated :)
