Charging
Hey everyone i am new to these forums as this will be my first post. I ordered a 15G iPod yesterday and it should be here on 6/18 (tomorrow). I plan on bringing this with my to my sleep away camp which starts on sunday. It comes with the Dock, and i would like to know if i can bring the iPod to camp. There will be no computers available so i was wondering if i can plug it into a wall to charge? Does it come with any cables that will go from my iPod to an outlet (American) because i am uncertain if the only way i can charge it is through my computer. Could anyone help me with any advice. Any an all advice wouldbe appreciated as i need to know ASAP b/c if there is something i need to buy it will need to be bought within a day or two. Thank you very much, Zac

Yup, if you ordered it from Apple or any other retailer, it should come with the AC power adapter, which fits onto the included FireWire cable. Designed for charging it from a wall socket when you don't have access to a powered FireWire computer port.

Well, even the summer camps I went to when I was young, I slept in a tent. I had a friend who went to a "camp" in cabins for really rich kids... I remember being flabbergasted that she brought a trunk for all of her stuff and that she was allowed to bring a hair dryer! But I only went for 2 weeks at a time, so that's probably the difference. I hope you have a good summer, and that your iPod is the envy of all your fellow campers. :D

Believe it or not, the iPod's cable has more than one use.... 2 actually... one is transferring files, and the other is power... just take the square charger, and plug the firewire cable in there, and the other end into your iPod...

i hate to sound paranoid, but resist the temptation to show it off or you might be missing one ipod at the end of summer (or at least never take your eyes off of it)... these things are hot commodities and a big temptation to a teenager you won't see again after the summer and has access to your stuff.
