battery charging
I got a 15 gig iPod this week. It took 10 hours before the animated charging icon ever said "Charged." Being fully charged, it sat for one day without being used. When I plugged it in the following day, it said "Charging" & took a full hour to return to being "Charged," even though it hadn't been used. Is this normal? Are other people having this experience or did I get a lemon?
Thanks, Comrades.

Hey Michla, welcome to the 'lounge. First off, can I recommend that you use the search functionality. There are lots of battery topics already here and you'd get your answer quicker.. ;)
Anyway, 10 hours is a long time for it to be charged. I've only ever see them charge for 4 hours max. Keep an eye on your battery.
The theory on the "charging" indicator is that it's just a timer (not in any way connected to the battery), that just flashes for 3-4 hours and then changes to charged. The reason this is believed to be the case is that if you charge your iPod and just as it changes to "Charged" you disconnect it and reconnect it, it will go through another full 4 hour charge cycle. At least that's the way it's worked on mine iPods...
But it's curious that 1) yours took 10 hours to charge the first time and 2) that it only took 1 hour to get back to charged. I've never seen that before...
