Is there student discount in European countries?

I called the Apple Serbia tday and asked them about student discounts and they said that apple gives student discounts only in the US and maybe in some European countries if purchase is above 1000 euros. Is this true or just plain bull as i think it is? I wanted to buy the gen3 15gig iPod (that is 500 euros). So my question is: Does Apple gives student discounts in European countries and how big is the discount? Thanks

As far as i know there's apple education discount all over the world.

You can log on to the Apple Website under the education section, enter an imaginary school name and surf the Apple store at educational prices!

http://store.apple.com/Catalog/de/Images/routingpage.html

try this for your own country too see if apple does the same thing there!

(ps i got Education discount in Austria as i work in a school!)

I'm in the UK and I had no trouble getting a student discount on my 15gig iPod.

The Educational discount is based on a percentage - but this differs from country to country...

I paid ?276 GBP instead of ?299 for my 15gig. So that's a percentage of 92.3.

So using that same percentage (which it won't be) you would pay 461.54 euros instead of 500. So I guess UK just get a better student discount?

Hmmm.. this is just another case of Apple sales people not knowing much... It would be wrong if apple gave discounts in some continents and not others for no reason... call again, and try to get a more educated individual

with the students? discount here in germany, you?d have to pay 461,68? for a 15gig ipod. i guess the percentage is the same here in europe although i?m not sure about smaller countries.

I was going to get the Student Discount in the UK but I was ignored and my order was been pushed back to fulfil shop & full paying customers. I wasn't impressed at all so I cancelled the order and bought elsewhere.
