Yeah, its true... I heard from my local store that they have them... I promptly cancelled my order from Apple, and am going to go there tonight! I waited over a month for this day!... I hope there aren't any defects... or white backlight... That would really chap my @ss

btw, I thought some preferred the white backlight for contrast/readability?, and the blue one may not light the screen as uniformly (but I guess the blue is much more stylish :cool: )

This particular one is in Ottawa, however there are a few in Quebec I believe (www.bmac.ca). From your Compusmart post and reference to London Drugs I gather this doesn't do you much good (being from western Canada I assume). I don't think you can get any extended warranties with any resellers here in Canada, so you might want to try any local Apple reseller, including Compusmart, as ipods have slowly started trickling in to various reseller stores (try to get on a waiting list)

There is a 1year warranty by apple.However, we dont have the luxury that the people in the states have on buying extended replacement warranties like the one's from CompuUSA.

Well you could always order from Compu-America (http://www.compu-america.com/prodLG.jsp?prodId=f4dd9b87c4.5) (as they ship to Canada) and buy their ridiculously high priced extended warranty... but I don't think you'd really want to do that. I guess if you are really concerned you could always drive to the US and buy one from one of these chain stores offering cheaper warranties (seeing as you're in the Vancouver area).JoeSchmo at 2007-11-15 14:22:21 >

taliosfalcon,Can you elaborate, as your post seems to suggest you purchased your ipod from Canada (either at Best Buy Canada or on-line from US site)?
As far as I know, Best Buy Canada has no current plans to carry ipods and Best Buy (US) does not ship to Canada, so I'd have to assume you picked yours up in the states. Also, I don't even know if Best Buy Canada offer the same (or any) extended warranties.
