multiple cd recording as one disc?
Great site thanks. I have ipod 20gb, and use music match and ephpod.
I listen to a lot of classical music, and would love to be able rip and play whole operas etc without having to stop and select the second or third disc from the ipod when the previous finishes.
Has anyone worked out a system?
Thanks.

# 1 Re: multiple cd recording as one disc?
You're best option, IMHO, is to put the multiple volumes together as if they are one volume, after you rip them to MP3s, before you put them onto your iPod. Here's how I do it. Consider the original /Jesus Christ Superstar/ concept album:
Disc 1: Title=Jesus Christ Superstar (Disc 1), 12 tracks
Ripped this produces a folder with that title, and each song begind with 01, 02, 03, etc. Furthermore, each file has the track number in an ID3 tag.
Disc 2: Title=Jesus Christ Superstar (Disc 2), 11 tracks
Now, after ripping I open the folder for disc 2 and I rename the files so that the track numbers start with 13, 14, 15, etc. Then I move them all to the folder of the first disc, and delete the now-empty folder of the second disc.
Then I rename the folder for the first disc so that it is just the name of the album with no reference to which disc it is (in this case I called it "Jesus Christ Superstar (Concept Album)" (to differentiate it from the movie soundtrack).
Then I use an ID3 tag editor and change the track numbers of all of those disc-two tracks the way I did the file names (some tag editors can automate this by getting the track number from the file name).
And last I use the tag editor to change the Title ID3 tag for ALL of the files so that they all have the same title (with no reference to disc number).
Now I have a nice, ONE VOLUME copy of the entire show. A few others, off the top of my head, that I've done this with are the 3-disc set of Les Miserable and Pink Floyd's 2-disc /The Wall/
Cheers
