How do I connect iPod to my car?
I have a 2002 Mercury Sable GS. The stock stereo is the only thing that I can use (I can't get an aftermarket because it will look really bad). I have a Rear Control Unit in the back of my car that I could plug a 6 Disc CD Changer into. How can I spend less than $77 without using a FM Modulator to connect the iPod to my car? For $77 I can get an adapter that will plug into my Rear Control Unit and create RCA Cables. Is there another way to do this that would be cheaper?

Blitzsafe AUX kit. Part #FORD/AUX DMX V.1TS is made specifically for 96-03 Mercury Sables. More than likely it will plug into your rear control unit, but don't quote me on that. Best to check it out with them first. http://blitzsafe.com

there is also a company called RCA input. However, both these are your $77 solution range. I've been hunting a cheaper way for quite a while and haven't found one, other than trying to build something yourself. There is not enough demand to have a 'off the shelf' item that converts the 1/8 inch headphone or line out from an ipod type device to CD input on the various automobile audio sets - plus each car or audio manufacturer seems to have their own different plugs. You could do a search at crutchfiled but I think you will still be in the $77 on up category.
