WAIT haha good luck.. ps Satellite Radio Looks to be the wave of the future.. may wanna get a sirus ready deck as well..

Chances are your xplod deck has input for a cd changer (I know both my sony headunits have had them). If that is the case, you can pick up an aux adapter for it, part number xa-300. It will run you about $100 (i got mine scratch and dent for $85 and it works fine. It gives you 2 auxiliary inputs and a USB input. Yes, at $100 it is horribly overpriced but still cheaper then a new headunit, espically if your current unit is a $400-500 deck.

Check it out here: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-NNUr0SYJCrF/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=158XA300

I have my 3rd gen iPod hooked up to my belkin autocharger with the line out, the lineout is connected the aux adapter under the seat which is connected to my Xplod headunit with the flip down face. I must say the sound is very good, only problem is a ground loop I've been able to reduce but not kill totally.

pioneer DEH-P3500 with Aux input adapter mounted L/R RCA jacks. Works like a charm, couldn't be happier. AutoMobile ipod. The wave of the future, not XM radio

Nakamichi CD-45z - high-level RCA outputs, TWO sets of RCA inputs, great sound, looks classy.. I've been very happy with this unit.

A ground loop is when alternator noise (or some other part of the car) causes a high pitched whine through the speakers. It sounds worse then it is but it's the sorta thing that will drive you nuts after a while. When the music is turned up though you generally can't hear it.

That's not to say that you will get a ground loop if you use my setup. You can get a groundloop from anything actually, installing an amp, speakers, whatever. There is a lot that can be done to stop them, mainly grounding all componets to the same place (if everything is grounded to the same spot, there is no loop). Other things like shielded cable and isolators can help. It is the sort of thing that a good installer can easily avoid (or fix).

I thoght those only came from bad grounds.. I have installed full systems and never had a "groundloop"..

Actually I think the ground loop issue occurs when you've got multiple devices connected to each other and multiple grounds, thus causing a "ground loop".

I recently installed a Pioneer DEH-P3500 (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pe/product/detail/0,,2076_4039_35222,00.html) in my wife's Sentra. Just need to get the CD Changer - AUX input converter for iPod integration. So for the time being, no iPod in the Sentra. Unfortunately, I'll probably spring for new speakers before the AUX input, because the stock speakers sound like doo-doo with the new head unit.

Still using a cassette adapter in my Tremor (http://www.fordvehicles.com/Trucks/ranger/external/?frame=full&vehicleShortName=RGR&page=http://www.forddirect.com/FVPackages.jsp?sModel=2003ranger&filter=ModelGroup.Tremor) (2002 4-door model) because it doesn't have CD changer controls... so no AUX input, that I know of anyway. :(. I'll probably wait until it (the truck) is out of warranty before I start futzing with anything. Then I'll probably get a head unit with either front or rear AUX input. Might get it professionally done, since I don't know much about auto electronics and want to make sure there won't be any issues with introducing a new (possibly higher powered) head unit with the existing amp/sub enclosure.

i'm currently using an alpine cdm-7861 with a fm modulator to connect the ipod. however, i'll be upgrading to an alpine cda-9815 really soon. i will use the ai-net adapter to provide a rca input for the ipod.

Aiwa CDC-X437

Pretty average compared to some better HUs, but...I have a mini-stereo line-in on the faceplate. Hooks up nicely with my Belkin adapter.
