Using an iPod as an image storage device
Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if this qualifies as a wish because I'm not quite sure if what I'm asking for can't already be done to the current 3G iPods.
In anycase, I'm wondering if iPods can ever be used as an external Hard Drive for use in digital photography so one can attach a firewire CF (or any flash card) reader to the iPod and download images into the iPod's HDD.
Can this be done currently?
Will it ever be possible?
Cheers

Not really at the moment but someone has managed to get a basic linux version running on the iPod (instead of the normal apple firmware) and has also been making quite a lot of progress hooking up a compactflash reader to the ipod.
So if he manages to create a stable GUI for his LiPod (linuxipod)
then it seems very possible indeed!
he also has managed to play .ogg format songs, something even apple's firmware can't do!
WAHEY!!

rofl LiPod =]
seriously, we should have full support for stuff like on the go file transfer, you could connect to another iPod and exchange music ir files on the HD.

Haven't been here in a long while so this might be old news but i just saw on apple's website a new accessory from Belkin that is a media reader which hooks up iPod to download images, etc.!! Well they finally did it. Huh? ME: 2ng gen. AND P-I-S-S-E-D!!

p.s. on second thought, i don't really need a $100 card reader.
