mp4 support coming yet?

I know that mp4 is slightly a give on quality, but with the incredible compression one would be able to fit a hell of a lot more songs. Anyone have any idea when or if this will come?

I imagine when the iMusic Store is Windows ready Apple will enable all iPods to play AAC. Maybe the end of this year? Still I use it on my 3 gen and have no complaints.BigIzz at 2007-11-15 14:51:47 >

I'm assuming the original poster is on Windows. I've ripped a couple of CDs on my Windows machine to AAC, and they had the suffix *.mp4. I renamed them to *.m4a and loaded them into iTunes on my Mac, and they work fine on my iPod with 2.0.1.If you can get any useful information out of that post, be my guest.
