Grado SR60 Fit Problem - glasses?
OK - based on a ton of great recommendations I bought an SR60 from headroom. They sound great - exactly what I was hoping for.
But ...
They are very uncomfortable. The main issue is that I wear glasses and the phones rest directly on the temples. This makes the them basically unuseable, because it screws up my vision and hurts my ears. So I guess I'll be returning them ... :(
When I bought them I was also considering the Sennheiser HD 497. Does anyone have these and can comment on comfort? Am I likely to have the same problem?
Does anyone else wear glassses have any other recommendations?? I'm going for quality sound here.
Thanks.

I wear glasses, and haven't had a problem--I'm stumped--they don't touch my temples, they rest completely on my ears...Try lowering them down a bit so they don't rest on the frames of your glasses (or get bigger ears--maybe that's why I don't have a fit problem with them). The SR's stretch a bit with time; they are quite tight at first, but the headstrap breaks in after awhile.

OK, well maybe I'll play with them some more. Maybe they just need to loosen up some. They sound great so I'd really rather keep them.
The men in my family are blessed with big ears and big ... feet, so I'm guessing that's not it. :D
Thanks for the response.

The grado headband can be bent to fit better. Storing them on something that streches them a bit can help speed up the break in.

I know I can't wear my Sony "behind the head" phones with glasses on...it either presses the earpieces down into my ears or I have to put them on top of the headphones which makes them weird. So. The Apple buds are wonderful to cure this.

Thanks for the replies ... as I mentioned before, I'm going to let the Grados break in a little bit and see what happens. I've been working on the adjustment and trying to get the band to loosen up a bit and it seems to be helping.
I think that part of the issue is not only head and ear size, but also the shape of one's glasses. My particular style does not have my temples sitting close in to my head - I'm thinking that's the main difference.
As an aside - I can't even begin to wear Apple's earbuds: I can't even get them in my ear - they fall right out. I'm on my second iPod and I haven't even taken the current 'buds out of their plastic wrapper. Oh well.

I had a problem with the buds at first, too, but I've found if you put them in correctly according to the illustration, they stay. The "post" should be sitting in the little dip in your ear closest to your head, between the tragus and the anti-tragus. This will put them at a slight angle, but they WILL stay!
