do your E2cs have white writing next to the plug?

It looks like its written in white out or somthing. Is this normal? Does anybody else have this wrtting on their e2c's?

On another board, a guy from Shure indicated that the code represents the production date/batch when your phones were made.

Mine has the letters "K S" right by the plug.Sort of annoying... covered them up with a black sharpie
