Best earbuds for $70 or less?
I have 70 to spend on a new set of earbuds for my iPod. What would you guys suggest? I am not an audiophile.

Sennheiser MX500.
They are superb, and cost about $15.

MX 400 and 500 are the same headphone, except 500 is that stupid purple color and has that annoying volume control. Get the 400 at Soundtrack for around 10 bucks and they will provide better sound than the #### 50$ EX71sl's. I hope that with the next couple paychecks i can get the shure e2c's. I should have bought those, but couldn't justify the spending...

Mine MX500s are Blue, and the Volume Control is very small and barely noticeable. ;)

Phillips HE245
I have tried a lot of earbuds. The HE245 crushes them all. Kind of hard to find, but well worth the $12-15.
You can see all the other buds and phones I use in my bio. The HE245 is by far the best. (I also have HE215 which is the same thing but without volume control).

Have you compared these to the Senn MX400 or MX500? I'm curious how they compare. Thx
Found the HE245 at outpost.com for anyone interested:

Sandman,
I have compared them to the MX500, which are also excellent buds. (For anyone who doesn't know, the 400 and 500 are the same except that the 500's have volume control). Both are in the same price range at under $15.
The Sennheisers have very clear highs. I find the HE245 to match the highs, but sounds fuller in the mid and lows. Actually, if you use the MX500 with the iPod equalizer at Bass Boost, they sound a lot like the Phillips buds with the EQ off completely.
The Phillips and the MX500's are two very efficient phones. But the Phillips pumps out a little more sound at the same volume setting than the Sennheisers.
Both of these units have volume control, which I like, because sometimes I don't want to lug the iPod remote control around.
Noticed you found them at Outpost. I get mine from Fry's.
If u get some, I'd be curious to hear your opinion. I think they're a pretty well kept secret.
